Book Review

It has been such a long time since I've done a book review of what I've been reading that I'm sure I can't remember them all.  I'll just talk about the last few months of books:
I recently finished 'The Giver'.  I've decided this book must have been written for a third grader.  I really didn't enjoy it and I felt like the story had many holes in it.  Also, I hated the ending and I'm not sure what the point of the book was.
'The Mill River Recluse' was a very easy, enjoyable read with a great story that documents the life of a very misunderstood lady in Mill River.  I loved her generosity and love despite her life story and how she positively impacted the community that misunderstood her.
I read  'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' and both of the two books that follow in this trilogy.  I actually enjoyed the first one although it is R rated but I struggled through the second two books.  Actually the third book is the worst because it is so repetative.  Despite my desire to have been finished with this series, I did love the main character, Lisbeth.
Ok some of you may think I'm a bit strange but I loved this book. It documents several generations of a family to lead to the main character who is Callie who turns into Cal.  Very intriguing read, I'll leave it at that.
I really enjoyed the 'Kite Runner' as well.  Although my heart was breaking at times for the main characters in this book, it was great to read into the world of children in the middle east.
Of course I had to read the 'Hunger Games' series.  Loved it, what else can I say.  I usually always love books with awesome, strong, women characters.
'Unbroken' is a very inspiring story of a man who was a son, Olympic runner, WW2 POW, husband, father, and finally a saved man.  I really enjoyed learning more about WW2 in the Pacific theater and what it was like to be in the service but mostly I loved reading about his determination, spirit, and resilience.
