A lot going on... and my sweet Grandmother

Man, I've had a lot going on. Of course last weekend I was with our church's youth group and I will still post some pictures from that when I get them. This weekend I went to the Women of Faith Conference with my friend Becky. It was so much fun and I loved hearing all the great women speakers. I listened to Allison Allen, Steve Arterburn, Patsy Clairmont, Marilyn Meberg, Luci Swindoll, Sheila Walsh, and Lisa Whelchel. Steven Curtis Chapman and Mandisa both performed and spoke as well.

On Sunday, Cade and I went to his Cousin's little girls first birthday party. It was fun, lots of kids and screaming, but fun. Here we are at the party:

Today, I did something I have not been looking forward to...I said goodbye to my Grandmother Irene. A few days ago my Grandmother Irene got sick and they took her to the hospital. She has since gone downhill really fast and is now back at the nursing home in hospice care. She is 95 and there really isn't anything they can do for her at that age. We do expect to lose her soon. Tonight Matt and I and the family went up to see her and tell her goodbye. I cried of course (I think I've become the softy of our fam). We don't really know for sure when she will go but its only a matter of time now since she can't eat anything anymore. She has suffered from Alzheimer's for years now. I will be sad when she goes but it will be a blessing and a triumph for her as she will be home with the Lord. When her race is finished and she heads to heaven, I'll share something about her that is special to me and I'll tell the pecan pie story, one of my personal favorites!
