Italy: Part 1

  I have about 5 very interesting posts coming up including all three parts of our two week vacation in Italy, Our business trip to Pebble Beach, and updates on Finn.  I better get started.  Today I'll talk about our amazing vacation.
  We recently spent two weeks in the southern part of Italy with our cousins and good friends Reif and Meagan.  We were in three main areas beginning in a town called Serrento at a hotel called the Bellevue Syrene.  It was truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.  Serrento is across an inlet in the Mediterranean Ocean from the City of Naples and the beautiful Mount Vesuvius.  The weather is beautiful and the cliffs are breathtaking.
On our first day, we did a little walking in Serrento but mainly relaxed and rested up from our really long travels.  We spent time, eating, laying by the pool, reading, and napping.  It was much needed.
  On our second day in Serrento we took a fiery to the island of Capri.  It is a tall mountainous island where the actual city is on the top of the mountain.  When we arrived in the port we had to take a cable car up to the city.  It was really cool to see such an interesting place.  We ate lunch and walked around the small town and ate gelato.  It had all the luxury stores which were so fun to look in.  We were told that this is where lots of celebrities park their yachts and shop.  We didn't see anyone famous.  That evening, we ate at an amazing restaurant on a dock back in Serrento that was super delicious.
  On our third day, we took a car and tour guide to Pompeii and Naples.  Seeing the ruines in Pompeii was completely amazing.  We loved our tour guide that day.  She was full of interesting tidbits and history of the ruins and city.  We then drove into Naples to do a little mores site-seeing and lunch.  We finished our evening at an amazing Michelin rated restaurant in Serrento.  We did it right that night!
  On our fourth day, we took another car the other direction to visit the cities of Pasitano, and Amalfi.  This drive through the coast line was so beautiful, we have nothing like it in America.
