We have had a few relaxing weekends lately. Cade has been super busy with work and out of town a few days every week lately. I'm flying through the new book series I'm reading: The James Patterson's Women's Murder Club.
OK, its official! I am officially going to participate in the Cooper Summer Triathlon on July 25th here in McKinney. It is only a "sprint" triathlon. That means a 350m swim, 12 mile bike, and 5K run. I'm not worried at all about the swim or the bike but a little about the running. I've been running outside this week and it has been super hot!! I do love the feeling of being drenched in sweat! My good girlfriend Becky, is going to do it with me. Here we are last weekend at a birthday party:
Since Cade and I aren't taking an official vacation this summer I've been busy planning some serious girl time. I'm really looking forward to spending a weekend with all my Dallas girlfriends in August. We are trying to organize a weekend in Galveston at a friend's beach house. I'm also really really excited that my college roommates will be coming in town in September. They have not been to my house yet so I'm excited to show them around town. We have some fun things to do around here.
On Sunday we got to eat with my Mom and Dad after church. Happy Father's Day to my sweet father! You know, I have to admit...growing up, my Dad and I butt heads quite often and it seemed there was always some tension about something. The older I get, the more I realize how he always had my best interest in mind. He was what most people would call "strict" but when it really came down to it he was the one who helped me do things I never thought I would dream of doing. For example, he was the one who helped me audition for drum corp when it seemed crazy that I was asking to move away and travel the country at 18 years old. I love the relationship we have now. He is now my friend. I love that I know he is here if I need him and he will always give me advice when I ask for it but he is never upset when I don't use his advice. I love my Dad!
One last random thing: Cade and I thought it would be fun to go see the new comedy out right now called "First Year". I just want to tell you that it is absolutely horrible and don't go see it. I felt like it was mocking the bible and I felt really uncomfortable listening to the conversations they were having a points in the movie. Just FYI- it stunk!!
