This weekend I just finished reading The Memory Keepers Daughter. This is not the type of book I usually read and I had a hard time getting into it at first. After reading the whole story I think it was great. It is about a Husband (who is a doctor) and Wife who have twins, the boy is perfect and the little girl has down syndrome. The husband delivers the babies and gives the little girl away telling his wife she died. The whole book is based on the struggle throughout life with the web of lies, grief, and regret, they are living with and the consequences they have. It was actually very moving. This book is very popular right now however I noticed it never mentioned anything about faith throughout their lifelong struggles. I'm thankful that I have built a foundation for dealing with hard times like they had and that I have forgiveness. It made me appreciate the honesty and openness that I have with my husband and it gave me a desire to create an environment for my kids someday where they will always be able to talk with Cade and I.
Our small group watched Fireproof last night. This is a movie about a Husbands and Wife struggle to save their marriage and their journey to finding out what love is and how love for God can change your life. I loved this movie. I loved that this movie was actually in the movie theatres and that the general public got to see it. If you haven't seen this movie yet, you should (a little bit of bad acting but the message it delivers is great).
Cade, I love you honey, your the best husband I could ever ask for!
