So I admit that I'm a true conservative Texan and I didn't vote for Obama, however, I was moved by today's unprecedented inauguration. Most of you know that I was a political science major in college and am now a "news junkie". I love watching, reading, and listening to politics. I did think today was awesome. I'm always almost brought to tears thinking of the magnitude of the moment. I even almost cried when Bush gave his last speech last week. I'm turning into a sap! Today, I couldn't even imagine what it must feel like to be Obama today. Even though I didn't vote for him, I will be in continual prayer for his success.
One more side note- I was listening to FOX news inauguration coverage in my car this morning while I was hurrying between business meetings and the anchor was talking about President George Bush. They were discussing his legacy and how hard history would be to him. The anchor said something that I thought was amazing. He said that no matter what people thought of George Bush that one thing was true about him: that his faith is what got him through his term, that Bush believed that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior, and that no matter what Bush always took his faith into consideration while making decisions in the White House. If nothing else, that is the legacy we are called to leave. Good Job George Bush and Good Luck Obama!
